A male Fairfield deputy was terminated Monday, and his wife resigned earlier this month after being accused of shoplifting from Walmart over the holidays.
Walmart sent the Sheriff’s department security footage where the female deputy left her shift at the story with what appeared to be items that had not been paid for. Dec. 12 footage depicts the male deputy leaving after his shift with what looks like two bags of items that were not paid for.
He refused to resign. Neither former deputy has been formally charged yet, but Sheriff Dave Phalen said he hopes they are “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
