Jackets get blown away by Hurricanes, playoff chances nixed
There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of a professional hockey game. The loud music, the breakneck pace, the fights–but damn, you have to admit, it’s been a rough season for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Last night’s game was a case study for the season. The Jackets led the Carolina Hurricanes for the first forty minutes, only to allow three goal in the first 2:30 of the third period, scrapping their chances for a win, and a playoff bid.
The situation wasn’t helped by the absence of forward Jared Boll, who is currently suspended for four games for a late hit he made on Tuesday.
It was a tough game, especially given the fact that the Jackets outshot the Hurricanes 44-24.
In spite of the Jackets’ trials this year, you still have to love the guys.
