“I thought it was a bomb going off–it was that loud.”
That was the reaction of Jerri Davis when a careless and possibly intoxicated driver lost control of his vehicle on Woodcrest Road, slamming into the side of her house, destroying the corner of a house next door and knocking out her gas meter.
She said she saw the driver running from the scene, leaving a passenger in the car.
Columbia Gas responded to the scene to contain the gas leak the driver caused, and paramedics transported the unfortunate passenger, who complained of difficulty breathing.
Expect updates in this developing story.
