Jack Frost overstays his welcome, ties 50-year-old record

Did it seem unseasonably cold this morning? It was.

In fact, this morning’s 32-degree weather came late enough in the year to tie a record set in 1959 for the latest frost ever recorded in Ohio.

According to the National Weather Service, the usual latest date for a frost in Ohio is April 16–so Jack Frost stuck around a full month late.

The low temperature was about 20 degrees below average.

Fortunately Spring is set to return this week, with a smattering of beautiful 60-70 degree days amidst some rainy ones.
