Redflex Gets Prosecution Deal for Cooperation, Pays Out $100,000

The Redflex/Red Light Camera Scandal that plagued the 2015 Columbus mayoral race has seemingly come to an end.

Mayor Andrew Ginther’s name was once linked to the scandal involving accusations of bribery in dealings with Redflex, a red light camera company with ongoing city contracts.

In a new deal with the Department of Justice, the Australian Federal Police, and other Australian law enforcement authorities — Redflex has agreed to pay $100,000 to the City of Columbus and a to-be-determined amount to Chicago. For their cooperation, the DOJ has agreed to a two-year non-prosecution agreement.

They will be required to provide on request to the various organizations all non-privileged information, documents, records, or other tangible evidence.
