Gender diversity sucks in Ohio exec positions- Aunt Flow reacts
Discoverorg.com recently conducted a survey to find the gender diversity in executive positions. Ohio ranked among the most poorly with only 20.76 percent of C-suites inhabited by women. Out of 50 states, we came in at 44th.
614NOW caught up with Claire Coder, Founder and CEO of Aunt Flow, to get her reaction on the survey’s findings.
“Ohio. What are we doing? I applaud Columbus for our rallies, our marches, and our activism, but what are we doing? Coming in at No. 44 in the country with women making up just 20.76 percent of companies’ executive leadership is alarming. So often, as a successful 20-year-old, female founder I am asked, “how did you do it?” My response- I asked questions. I Googled the answers. I make things up as I go. I took Nike’s slogan to heart and I “Just Did It.” As women, we find ourselves questioning our value, not asking for a raise, and not feeling qualified for the job position if we don’t fill all of the requirements. These problems are rooted in insecurities. To raise our rankings, we must raise our morale, positivity, and just do it.”
