Update on opioid epidemic in Franklin Co, Ohio

The overdose rate from June 2016 compared to June 2017 was up 12 percent shy of a full 100 percent.
That’s 88 percent more overdoses in just one year’s time.
According to WOSU per the Franklin County Coroner’s office, this spike is largely due to opioid’s hold on people. Fentanyl specifically is the cause of more than half the overdose deaths.
A majority of the victims are male.
