Your grandson is not in jail, it’s a scam

“No grandma, I’m not in jail….You got scammed.”

These wise guys out here are scamming innocent elderly folks by claiming their grandchild is in jail and needs money for a bail out.

10tv reports that Sgt. Dennis Kline, fraud and forgery unit of the CPD, says there have already been multiple grandparents take out money orders from a major retail store for bail outs.

The scammers call senior citizens and tell them their grand child is either in danger or has been arrested. They’ll even put someone else on the line to act as an attorney. Then the scammers will direct them to a money order facility, line up a taxi service for them, and provide them with an address to send the money to.

Sgt. Kline told 10tv the best way to protect your loved one is to inform them of this scam and monitor their finances.
