The debate on Common Core has reached the school superintendents, and they are in favor. The pros and cons for Common Core school standards have been tossed around as the possibility of eliminating them looms closer. It was developed by education experts and some argue the standards have given students a leg up on advanced learning and national specialists have recommended the standard be kept, according to the Dispatch. “Why start over?” asked Paul Imhoff, superintendent of Upper Arlington Schools, the paper reported. Many schools have taken time and money to implement the new system and changing it isn’t necessary he said. Experts and educators have been debating House Bill 597 which would remove Common Core standards from schools next year.
