OSU student can add “grew second biggest pumpkin” to resume

One Ohio State student made an executive decision that pumpkins are more important than an exam.

Who can blame her, especially when it means walking away with a second place trophy?

Isabella Liggett didn’t actually skip her exam, she had it rescheduled so that she could attend the Circleville Pumpkin show, reports The Lantern. She had grown an orange orb—a big one—that she entered into the Giant Pumpkin contest. While juggling summer classes and a full-time job, Liggett managed to dedicate hours to care for her growth.

She named her Luna and although it was her first shot at growing, she felt she had a good chance.

Liggett wasn’t wrong either. Coming in at 1,562 pounds, Luna was massive enough (in a good way) to take home the runner-up trophy.

Now on to pumpkin pie! Too soon…?
