While many of the Rhythm on the River performances have been musical, BalletMet dancers will kick off Labor Day weekend with a performance at Bicentennial Park Friday at 8 p.m. Per usual, the show will be free, and the river will set up the backdrop for the performers. BalletMet is one of the nation’s largest dance companies, and the Friday performance will be a varied bill that will be a glimpse at the upcoming season. Opera Columbus and the Columbus Symphony and Chorus will also join in for parts of the show for a complex integration of several art forms. There will even be a peek at the upcoming holiday favorite “The Nutcracker.”
