The defense for the man accused of raping, kidnapping, and murdering OSU student Reagan Tokes is wanting to delay the trial.
Brian Golsby’s attorney is asking to postpone the trial on account of a current bill making its way through the legislature that would abolish the death penalty.
If convicted, Golsby would be looking at a death sentence.
According to 10tv, the trial is set for February but Golsby’s defense wants it pushed back until the bill is decided upon.
Though Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien has no intention of letting that happen. 10tv reports he will oppose the defense motion to place the trial on hold, citing the bill’s sluggish movement through legislature.
