Mother-daughter polar bear moment wins big
Out of 230 accredited Zoos and Aquariums in the U.S., a photo taken at our very own Columbus Zoo & Aquarium has won a national contest.
The stars of the photo are Anana, the mama polar bear, and her cub, Amelia Gray. The hero behind the lens is Grahm Jones, graduate of CCAD and currently employee of the zoo.
In order to capture this precious mother-daughter moment, Jones had to strap himself into a safety harness and lean over the Zoo’s Polar Frontier habitat with his Nikon D750 camera and 70-20mm zoom lens.
The photo will be featured in the December issue of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums magazine. This is another feather in Jones’ cap already filled with achievements including having his work featured in USA Today, NewYorkTimes.com, National Geographic, and many other prominent publications.
