Ohio: One of the worst states for hunger issues

Food lines are growing in Ohio. The Buckeye state is one of the worst when it comes to hunger issues, and there are still thousands in Ohio that aren’t part of the economic upswing after the recession. Aided by unemployment, food-stamp cuts and the increasing cost of groceries, the problem of hunger is still a constant, nagging question. Wednesday the executive director of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks and others met to call on leaders to take action against hunger. With a rate of 16 percent, Ohio is one of just eight states that can’t seem to dip below the national average, the Dispatch reported.
