Death penalty indictment for alleged Westerville cop killer

A death penalty indictment has been returned from a grand jury for the man accused of killing two Westerville police officers.

Quentin Lamar Smith is being brought up on charges of the aggravated murders of Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering.

 

A grand jury will hear evidence and deliberate whether formal charges of aggravated murder should be filed.

According to 10TV, the Fraternal Order of Police said a death sentence is the only acceptable outcome.

The man accused of supplying the gun to Smith will appear in federal court Wednesday on charges of aiding and abetting t he possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
