Short North’s newest boutique is more than just a pretty shop
For the past several months, Just Cause, the Short North’s newest boutique, has been satisfying shopping lists for people all across the city while simultaneously helping less fortunate women reclaim their lives.
This one-stop-shop commandeered Roots Records’ former location at 1357 N. High St.
Just Cause offers a little something for everyone; from mens, women’s, and infant’s apparel, to toys, teas, soaps, jewelry, sunglasses, and more.

Kelli Beightler is the proud owner who began her quest of giving back as an outreach director at several local churches. She noticed a trend women: addiction, then prostitution, then homelessness.
She opened a drop-in center on Sullivant Avenue in 2015 where women could get a hot meal and take a breather. Beightler then became inspired to create a holistic detox program for women addicted to opioids and struggling with trauma.
These initiatives take money though which sparked the first iteration of Just Cause in Bexley last summer which quickly outgrew its digs.
With the move to Short North, Beightler can continue her mission of giving back (plus offer an upstairs area made especially for recovery, support and mentorship efforts) while also providing the bustling neighborhood with a hub of quality, local products.
