Columbus City Schools principal caught between rock and Backpages sting

The principal of a Columbus City Schools junior high is staring down the barrel of a pretty serious accusation: soliciting.

Leon Leavell, principal at Arts I.M.P.A.C.T. Middle School, allegedly responded to a Backpage ad placed by an undercover detective.

He was arrested on March 24 at the Hilton Columbus at Easton, reports 10TV.

Leavell has since been reassigned to other duties outside of school and no longer has contact with his students.

He plead not guilty during his arraignment Monday.

10TV reports Leavell applied for the Columbus City Schools superintendent position last year.

This comes only a couple months after an Upper Arlington lieutenant found himself in a similar predicament.
