Counts of sexual misconduct keep stacking up against Clintonville chiropractor
About a month ago, Dr. Ryan D. Smith of Synergy Chiropractic Wellness Clinic in Clintonville was looking at 23 counts of sexual imposition.
Today, the Dispatch reports the doc’s count has gone up to 66.
In total, 47 women have come forward, all with relatively the same story; Smith would grope patient’s bare breasts and/or manipulate their arms so that their hands graze his genitals.
These claims date back to 2013.
He’s even been accused of misdiagnosing some of his patients, giving him an excuse to touch them in the aforementioned ways.
Each charge against Smith carries up to 60 days in jail. The maximum sentence he could receive is 18 months.
In November, Dr. Smith was placed on a two-year probation by The Ohio State Chiropractic Board after he entered an agreement with the board, admitting to failure to “explain the necessity of performing a procedure that involved contact with the female breast,” reports The Dispatch.
Dr. Smith received two warnings; one in 2007 and the other in 2015. Both were for “sexual misconduct.”
