Prison officials were warned about plan for escape
UPDATE: Prison officials had apparently been warned about a plan to escape. Officials discovered the plan and put one inmate into segregation from the rest Wednesday, according to WTVN. That inmate though had been housed with the same three inmates that escaped, including TJ Lane. According to the report, after the warning, officials did not attempt to further secure the unit.

TJ Lane, the Chardon school shooter, escaped from prison Thursday night along with two other inmates from a prison in Lima. The 19 year old escaped around 7:45 p.m., climbing a fence during rec hours, but was recaptured hours later as police combed through the woods near the prison. Once found, officials have said he didn’t put up a fight, but was found with a pitchfork. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole last year.
Locals followed along as the search ensued throughout the night.

Chardon schools are closed Friday in light of the escape.
