Local wild man wrangles new Animal Planet show
Wild animal wrangler, YouTube star, Ohio State University alumnus, and Westerville native Nate “Coyote” Peterson has landed himself a new TV show.
Animal Planet has picked up the wild man for a show set to debut in early 2019.
Peterson’s self-produced “Brave Wilderness” YouTube channel and its 13 million subscribers caught the attention of the cable channel and approached him with an offer.
In the online show, Peterson pursues all types of wild animals in their natural habitats to understand their behavior and develop an appreciation for their abilities.

The Dispatch reports he told Animal Planet if he could keep his Columbus-based production crew and retain full creative control then they had themselves a deal.
The rest is about to be untamed history.
Back in 2015, (614) went on a field trip with Peterson to watch him wrangle a snapping turtle at Blendon Woods Metro Park.
Peterson got the turtle, alright, but the turtle got away with a chunk of his thumb.

Peterson was also part of the (614) Interview Issue in 2017.
