In addition to the bridge, the project features wider granite sidewalks, a bike lane, improved lighting, and decorative landscaping, according to The Dispatch.
The project was originally expected to be completed by late fall 2018, but a few hiccups, including unexpected pipes beneath the concrete, created delays.
Phase two of the project, expected to begin next year, will connect Fulton Avenue to I-70 east and create a new ramp to Parsons Avenue.
