Kasich: The AP screwed up

Governor John Kasich is not pleased. Not in the least. An AP reporter tagged along with the Republican governor on his campaign and following the article, papers across the country snatched up the headline of Kasich separating from the party on the issue of Obamacare.

The AP report read: “The opposition to it was really either political or ideological,” the Republican governor added. “I don’t think that holds water against real flesh and blood, and real improvements in people’s lives.” In a state that’s pivotal for national politics, Kasich casts Medicaid expansion as a moral choice to help the poor.

Essentially it seemed like Kasich was all for Obamacare, but he then took to Twitter:

This then came out concerning Kasich’s opinion from the AP: Kasich called The Associated Press Monday night to clarify that he was speaking specifically about a repeal of Medicaid expansion and not of the entire Affordable Care Act .

Kasich ended up toeing a fine line between the distinction between Medicaid Expansion And Obamacare, which was captured in the AP story.
