The shiny new James Cancer Center is finally ready. It’s the largest dedicated cancer hospital in the Midwest and the dedication and open house are set for Friday at 1 p.m. The officially opening will be in December with special patient units that are for specific cancer types so that dedicated physicians can treat what they know best. “There is no such thing as a routine cancer and so there is no routine treatment. By analyzing the actual DNA of an individual patient – genomics – we are now able to tailor treatments specifically to that individual,” Michael Caligiuri, MD, director of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, said in a release.
