Perfect score for Cbus for LGBT support
In a not so shocking result, Columbus is a really LGBT friendly city according to the Human Rights Campaign. It’s actually as friendly as cities come. The city’s final score was 100 (although it would have been higher but the scores can’t go over that), after it was ranked in Non-Discrimination Laws, Relationship Recognition, Municipality as Employer, Municipal Services, Law Enforcement and Relationship with the LGBT Community. Within each category the city is ranked on even more specific topics like transgender health benefits, an LGBT Liaison and more.
Columbus also earned bonus points for inclusive workplaces, services for LGBT youth, homeless and elderly and for having openly LGBT members elected as municipal leaders. The results likely don’t come as a surprise for many since Columbus has made a name for itself in years past as an open community as well as touting one of the largest Pride Parades in the Midwest.
