More chicken: Double Comfort takes over Knead

Double Comfort is opening and bringing more fried chicken to Columbus, which seems to be quite heavy on the fried chicken lately. With a patio that seats 20, summertime was the perfect time for the big opening and fittingly for Columbus, the chicken joint will also serve local brews from Seventh Son to Four String Brewing. The plan is to keep it southern with blue plate specials and of course the Memphis-style fried chicken.

Charitable chicken: new restaurant to fry chicken and give back

Served battered and fried along side blue plate specials, Double Comfort, a fried chicken restaurant is planning to open across from the Convention Center. The memphis-style fare will be spicier than the average plate of fried chicken, and can be ordered with Po Bo sandwiches and bacon corn bread. Comfort food isn’t all the shop is up to though. Every six months (once expenses are no longer an issue) owner, Mary Lyski, plans to drop a hefty donation toward a local food pantry—a donation that would equate to the number of meals she sold in the restaurant.
