Dublin dad’s reading app needs your help to win
There is a delicate balance between learning and screentime for kids these days, but one Dublin dad has found a way for parents and kids to toe the line quite successfully.
Erick Slangerup of Dublin is the creator of StorySnacker, an app that offers digital and illustrated kids’ tales that busy parents can read aloud in just 60 seconds—a snack-sized story, get it? But, this app is getting the attention of more than just central Ohioans.

The Webby Awards, which 10TV refers to as the “Oscars of the internet,” has singled out StorySnacker as one of the top five apps in the world in the Family & Kids category. Slangerup’s invention is the only independent app in the category not developed by a large corporation. He’ll have to beat out the likes of PBS and Nickelodeon to win.
Currently, StorySnacker is in second place behind The Cat in the Hat Builds That by Random House Children’s Books. Go on, support a local and his noble mission to help on-the-go parents get story time in with their kids.
