Three feet of safety? Less bike accidents hopefully

Three feet could be the difference between drivers and plowing into a human body—in theory at least. City Council is proposing what they call the “3-Feet-Law,” which would require cars to give at least three feet of clearance while passing bicycles (maybe riders will hold out yard sticks for drivers to reference three feet of distance) and six feet for larger vehicles such as semis. There will be a public hearing Tuesday at 6 p.m. to talk about the proposal and council will vote Monday. Both Cincinnati and Cleveland already have laws requiring something similar, basically saying cars shouldn’t get uncomfortably close to bikers.
