2 new concepts moo-ving into Budd Dairy Food Hall

Budd Dairy Food Hall announced two more concepts that will launch in the “food entrepreneurial launchpad” when it opens. Modern Southern Table, created by Sadaya “Daisy” Lewis, and Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen, from Jordan Lamatrice, will join other previously-announced concepts Darista and Borgata later this year.

The first chef-driven food incubator in Columbus, Budd Dairy Food Hall is currently under construction in Columbus’ growing Italian Village neighborhood. The innovative dining and entertainment venue hopes to give the city’s top up-and-coming chefs the opportunity to grow as entrepreneurs and to serve their community in a unique gathering space.

A winner of the Food Network’s “Food Court Wars” in March 2014, Modern Southern Table owner Daisy Lewis is familiar with community food spaces. She got her start in the culinary world at the food court of Colony Square Mall in Zanesville, Ohio.

“Food is our passion and we love creating new delicious southern dishes featuring fresh, natural ingredients and authentic flavors,” said Lewis via a press release. “We are thrilled to join Budd Dairy Food Hall and look forward to sharing meals made from scratch and with love with the Columbus community.”

Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen owner Jordan Lamatrice also knows a thing or two about the food industry from his food truck and catering company, which serves classic sandwiches, salads, soups and sides with a twist, such as the house-seasoned French fries smothered in “Beer Gut Chili.” Lamatrice is ready to move to his first physical location at Budd Dairy Food Hall.

“By creating this food incubator, the team has offered me an unparalleled opportunity to operate my business on the next level,” Lamatrice in the release. “I can’t wait to work with the other chef partners and see the quality and variety of food offered.”

The food hall plans a lineup of 10 diverse cuisines by launch, with more chef partners to be announced in the coming months. Borgata Pizza Café, created by chefs Ed Bisconti and Roz Auddino, and Darista, created by chef Dara Schwartz were the first two concepts announced.

Budd Dairy Food Hall will feature community seating, a beverage program, and space for live music and entertainment. A rooftop deck, interactive games, and event space are also in the works.

Budd Dairy Food Hall is a partnership between Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and local developer, Kevin Lykens. Cameron Mitchell will provide management of the overall concept and will provide all services related to Budd Dairy’s culinary, beverage and entertainment programs.
