Beer, coffee to brew soon on North High in Clintonville

Update: It’s full yeast ahead for the brewpub that will take over the space formerly occupied by Clintonville Outfitters.

Brewpub Wetstone Beer Co. and coffee shop will open at 2864 N. High St. by the end of the year.

Columbus Underground reports Wetstone is developing a 15-barrel brewhouse off-site and will use the Clintonville taproom for their sour beer and barrel aging facility.

In the morning, guests will have access to a full espresso bar and cold brew on draft. Food trucks will provide eats for the afternoons and evenings.

With our community’s help, we plan to create an inclusive, comfortable, and quality-driven brewery that our neighbors can be proud of!” wrote Wetstone on Instagram.

06/06/2019: A North Hight Street store meant for outdoorsy people may be transitioning into a joint for people who’d rather park their behinds on a barstool. Clintonville Outfitters at 2864 N. High St. could be redeveloped into a new brewpub if an application is approved.

A plan for a 3,500-square-foot brewpub with a 1,300-square-foot beer garden was filed with the city by the property owner 2864 Clintonville LLC, and its developer, United Development Services LLC, who appeared before the Clintonville Area Commission seeking a parking variance.

The new concept, which is yet to be named, may be a destination for both brews and coffee. More details to come.

Clintonville Outfitters closed in January 2018 after serving the adventure-seekers of central Ohio for more than 10 years.
