CVS employee saves grandpa from scammer
An employee of a Westerville CVS kept a well-meaning grandpa from losing $4,500 to a con-artist. 77 year-old Bob Shortland got a call from a guy pretending to be his grandson. The caller said that he’d been arrested and needed $4,500 to get out of jail. Grandpa went to CVS to get a pre-paid MoneyPak to bail the kid out. Before completing the transaction, Shortland mentioned to the cashier what the money was for. Lucky for Bob that he doesn’t believe in keeping family issues private, because the CVS cashier was able to stop grandpa before he kissed his nearly five-thousand bucks goodbye.
