Broadway in Columbus season schedule announced
CAPA and Broadway in Columbus have announced plans for their 2015-2016 season.
Kinky Boots – Winner of six Tony Awards and featuring a score by Cyndi Lauper, the musical tells the tale of a shoe factory owner struggling to keep his business afloat when he meets up with an entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. Kinky Boots runs October 6th through 11th 2015 at the Ohio Theatre.
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical – The musical tells the familiar story of a dastardly character hell-bent on stopping Christmas from coming to Whoville. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical runs November 24th through 29th 2015 at the Ohio Theatre.
The Sound of Music – Its a brand-new production of the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical. The Sound of Music runs January 26th through January 31st 2016 at the Ohio Theatre.
Motown the Musical – This show tells the story of Motown founder Barry Gordy, from his beginning as a featherweight boxer to his place in music history. The production features music from Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and more. Motown the Musical runs February 23rd through February 28th 2016 at the Ohio Theatre.
Dirty Dancing: the Classic Story on Stage – This stage adaptation of the hit Patrick Swayze movie features the songs “Hungry Eyes,” “(I’ve Had) the Time of my Life,” “Do You Love Me” and more. Dirty Dancing – the Classic Story on Stage runs May 17th through May 22nd 2016 at the Ohio Theatre.
Shows returning to Columbus for special engagements in 2016 include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (March 15th through March 20th), The Book of Mormon (April 19th through 24th) and Wicked (August 17th through September 4th) (jj)
