Columbus Police officer busted for OVI

Officers in Coal Grove, Ohio (southern Lawrence County) busted a Columbus Police officer Friday afternoon on charges of OVI. Officer Larry Brown, a 23-year department veteran, reportedly had a .207 blood-alcohol level at the time of arrest. Among other things, Brown is facing a charge of carrying a firearm while intoxicated. For now, he is taking some personal days, but a spokesperson for the Columbus Police Department says that when he returns to work, Larry will be relieved of his badge and placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.  (jj)
