Help out your favorite local nonprofit in a Big way today
Have you wanted to lend a helping hand over the past few months but haven’t been able to physically donate your time due to health concerns? Well, today is your Big chance to help out your favorite nonprofits in a Big way.
The Big Give–Central Ohio’s annual and premier event for supporting local nonprofits–has served as the Columbus Foundation’s key charity fundraising event in the surrounding area. The donation window will open at 10 a.m. and will run for 25 hours.
Nonprofit organizations have taken a major hit during the coronavirus pandemic. As donation dollars decreased, needed services from various nonprofits in the community increased, making your donation to The Big Give today even more critical.
A statement published on the website by President and CEO Douglas F. Kridler reads as followed:
“Our nonprofits and their leaders are a huge part of the solution to our myriad crises and ongoing needs, whether in care for the physical and mental health of our community, combating racism, providing shelter, food, and education, or the inspirations of the arts.”
The Big Give has established a database for all your donation needs. The Giving Store allows supporters to navigate their system of over 1,100 nonprofits by category to find the mission you stand behind. Just over 900 of those nonprofits reside in Franklin County. Categories include animal welfare, arts and culture, education, employment, environment, food and nutrition, health, housing, social services.
This year, The Big Give is putting extra emphasis on supporting service workers, individuals affected by COVID-19, Franklin County nonprofits, and racial equality.
If you’re thinking of donating to a nonprofit or are looking for one you’d like to support, you can access The Big Give’s entire nonprofit network here. All credit card fees will be covered by the Columbus Foundation, meaning 100 percent of your donation goes to the organization of your choice.
