New event combines fireworks with equality support
With more than 400,000 people expected to gather downtown on July 3rd for Red, White & Boom, there will of course be plenty of jockeying for the best vantage points. The folks behind the inaugural Red, White + Equal Rights event believe that they have that covered.
Organizers invite you to add some extra purpose to your Independence Day celebrations. Local superstar Nina West hosts the night atop the LeVeque Tower garage with extra spark including LIVE DJ sets, adult beverages and fantastic views of the sky. Food vendors for the event will include:
- Challah Food Truck
- Love Bug
- DareDevil Dogs
- J-Pops
And with last week’s Supreme Court ruling in favor of national marriage equality, Red, White + Equal Rights have added wedding accommodations to the event. The folks at Perfect Pride Weddings will be setting up a rooftop chapel and are available to conduct ceremonies throughout the day.
General admission begins at 4:30 with proceeds benefiting Why Marriage Matters Ohio and Equality Ohio. See the event website for more details.
