A glimpse at the life of young man who died at Ohio State Fair

The person who died as a result of an Ohio State Fair ride malfunction was an 18-year-old with a very bright future ahead of him. Tyler Jarrell had signed up to join the United States Marine Corps less than a week before he passed away.

“We are truly proud to have known him as one of the brave few willing to step up and serve his country in the United States Marine Corps,” Sgt. Caitlin Brink, Marketing and Public Affairs Chief for the Marine Corps Recruiting Station said in a statement, according to 10tv.

He was scheduled to leave for basic training in SC on June 18, 2018 to become a combat engineer in the Infantry.

Jarrell would’ve been a senior at Franklin Heights High School this fall. Superintendent Dr. Bill Wise issued a statement extending his condolences to Jarrell’s family, friends, and classmates.
