OSU Basketball: From OH-YEAH to Oh-It Happened Again…

The Ohio State women’s basketball team lived up to their #1 seed in the B1G Ten Tournament this past weekend with a 79-69 win against the second-seed Maryland Terrapins in yesterday’s championship game. Fueled by an explosive second quarter (outscored Terrapins 27-9) and a game total 25 points from star guard #3 Kelsey Mitchell, the Buckeyes cut down the nets in Indy. Ohio State fans are hoping this exercise in chopping nylon is just the rehearsal for the forthcoming madness in March…

And it may be fair to say the Ohio State men’s basketball team will be content with their seeding for March Madness just as long as Penn State isn’t within a hundred miles of them.

Yes, it happened again.

Penn State’s wildly dramatic buzzer-beating 3 at the Schott back in late January was followed up with a game-winning two-pointer with just seconds remaining in the B1G Ten Tournament’s quarterfinal at Madison Square Garden this past Friday, with the Nittany Lions deflating Buckeyes fans like footballs prepped for Tom Brady.

After his spectacular 3-pointer at IU to win the game, guard #3 C.J. Jackson curiously left his man for a soft double-team against the Nittany Lions in the B1G Ten Tournament, leaving his man wide-open for an easy go-ahead-bucket. However, just as Penn State repeated history to some extent, hopefully the same will happen for Mr. Jackson regarding his thrilling 3-pointer in Bloomington for Ohio State at some point later this month.

OSU Wrestlers Are the B1G Men on Campus

What’s better than one B1G Ten Championship? According to Ohio State’s wrestling team, the answer is two. Over the weekend in East Lansing, the Buckeyes earned their second consecutive conference title. Moreover, Ohio State has won 3 B1G Ten titles during the past 4 seasons. Led by world-class wrestler Kyle Snyder, the Buckeyes proved they are the best in a conference loaded with top, nationally-ranked programs (Iowa, Penn State, That Team Up North).

The NCAA wrestling championships will be March 15-17 just up the road in Cleveland. Ohio State will be represented by ten wrestlers in scarlet and gray.
