A Kings Island guest was hospitalized yesterday evening, and park officials believe he was struck by a roller coaster

“On Wednesday, a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Banshee roller coaster and is believed to have been struck by the ride. The park’s safety and first aid personnel responded immediately to the situation and contacted local emergency responders,” a statement provided to 614Now by park officials reads.

Billed as the world’s longest inverted steel roller coaster, the Banshee can reach speeds of up to 68 m.p.h., King’s Island’s website says. Kings Island’s statement said that the ride will be temporarily closed while it is investigated.
