Whether you like it or not—Vets Memorial coming down
Protestors haven’t quite strapped themselves to the Vets Memorial yet, but according to ThisWeek Community News, protestor Bernie Brogan said, “until the wrecking ball comes crashing through the wall, we’ll be fighting to keep it.” The Franklin County commissioners have decided to knock down Vets Memorial after a few years of lost profit and pricey needed renovation and makeover. The building would be replaced with the smaller Ohio Veterans Memorial and Museum. A group called Taxpayers and Veterans for Saving Vets Memorial (which Brogan belongs to) has been fighting the decision, and recently submitted a written request to put an end to the destruction of Vets Memorial, but the decision still stands despite the groups’ efforts.
