“Mad Dog” coming to Columbus Crew

crew

A guy nicknamed “Mad Dog” has been signed with the Crew. Yeah, “Mad Dog.” The Austrian player, Emanuel Pogatetz, who has most recently played with Germany’s FC Nürnberg is set to play with the Crew. It’s expected he should be available come the Sept. 20 game against New England Revolution and is coming onto the team to fill a void left by Giancarlo González who was transferred last month. Pogatetz stands at 6 foot 3 inches and has been a leader and a captain on many of the teams he has played on, making him valuable to the Crew.
