Democrat gov. candidate allegedly drove without full license

The democrat candidate for Ohio governor apparently drove without a full license in 2012. When a police report surfaced about Ed FitzGerald sitting in an empty parking lot two years ago with a woman, he called a press conference and stated he had simply been talking with the woman, and then drove her to her hotel before driving home himself, according to the Dispatch. But for several years (including the incident with the woman that came into question) FitzGerald only had a temporary driving permit, which would require another licensed driver to be with him whenever he drove, meaning if he did drive home after dropping off the woman, he was driving illegally. The candidate has since apologized and said since 2012 he has had a valid driver’s license.

Ohio democrat calls press conference, cancels campaign stops

Ed FitzGerald who is a Democrat candidate for Ohio governor has canceled two of his campaign stops and called a press conference at 2:30 p.m., according to the Dispatch. He will most likely discuss the police record from a suburb outside of Cleveland, when he was found in a parked parking lot with another person. The police approached the car in Oct. 2013 when a caller notified them about its presence and that it had been there for about half an hour. FitzGerald was in the car with “a friend, just talking” according to the report.
