Husted appealing judge’s voting hour decision

Last week a federal judge ruled that the trimmed voting hours in Ohio hurt low income voters and minorities, and gave the order to reverse the reduced times. Ohio Secretary of State, Jon Husted, doesn’t seemed to agree with that and plans to appeal the decision. “I would disagree with that premise that somehow minority or poor voters are treated any differently by longer or shorter periods of time. There is no evidence that that’s the case,” he told the Dispatch. Advocates though of the increased time frame have sited minorities generally vote more in person especially in urban areas.
