Marriage equality could boost Ohio economy

A think tank at UCLA Law released big news on marriage equality in Ohio: it could bring in a ton of money. According to the report, legalizing same-sex marriage would generate $70.8 million in spending in the first three years alone for the state. That number is extrapolated off the U.S. Census report on how many same-sex couples live in Ohio and then how many would be expected to marry if the marriage was legalized. The think tank believed that $45.3 million could pour into the state in the first year off of wedding arrangements.
