Undergrads aren’t be the only thing you’ll have to dodge while driving around campus

City Council approved the $201,450 expansion for CoGo Bike Share. Over the next year, the company will add eight docking stations and over 80 bicycles as they expand north towards campus, west towards Franklinton and east towards Bexley. Undergrads might not be the only thing you’ll have to dodge while driving around campus

CoGo is looking to expand and put more bikes in Franklinton, Bexley, and around campus. Columbus City Council will consider a proposal this evening to add eight new docking stations and 80 more bicycles, mostly northward toward OSU. Currently, you can use your credit card or member key fob for a short term rental of one if its 300 bikes located at 30 stations. Most of the stations are north to Second Avenue, east to Parsons Avenue, south to German Village and west to Route 315.

If passed, the program would expand north, as well as west toward Franklinton and east toward Bexley. Alan McKnight, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department even said that OSU officials have shown in interest in having docking stations around the campus.

The expansion would cost the city just over $200,00 from a Recreation and Parks bond fund. CoGo is now self-sustaining and has had over 50,000 rides.
