Kasich not called to defense of Suarez
Last week, leaders around the state were a bit surprised by what arrived for them: subpoenas. (Probably not the best start to the day.) Yesterday though, the defense for Benjamin Suarez rested without calling Governor Kasich, Attorney General Mike DeWine and Secretary of State Jon Husted, all of whom had been issued subpoenas. Suarez has been charged with illegally funneling money toward two Republican candidates in 2012. Governor Kasich has not received contributions from Suarez since 2011, and the defense has declined to comment on the strategy, according to the Dispatch.
