Baby bison, the new star of Battelle Darby Creek

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park has a few uncommon residents: a herd of buffalo.  The calf can occasionally be spotted behind the tall grasses as visitors have flooded the park since its birth May 28. The small new comer is female like the rest of the herd (other than the male introduced in the fall), and will probably stay at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park to grow. In honor of the new babe, the park is hosting a bison baby shower Saturday (because if anything is cuter than a baby bison it’s a shower for it). The festivities will include a bison shaped cake as well as a registry for all its bison needs.
