An Ohio State team is attempting to break its own record for fastest electric car. The Speedweek event is going on this week in Utah, and the students are going for more than 310 miles per hour with Buckeye Bullet 3, a dragster looking car that runs on 2,000 lithium ion batteries. The previous record of 307.6 miles per hour has already been set by the Ohio State team, Venturi Buckeye Bullet team in 2010. “The goal this year is to beat that, whether it’s 310 mph or 350 mph,” said Holly Henley, spokeswoman at the OSU Center for Automotive Research, the Dispatch reported.
