Cold case: Rape suspect arrested after 18 years

After 18 years, a suspect in a rape case has been arrested in what was a cold case. Dating back to 1996, 47-year-old Leroy Davis is accused of having grabbed a woman by the throat and then forcing her into a home. According to detectives, Davis allegedly put a box cutter to her throat and sexually assaulted her. She went to a hospital for treatment and evidence was collected, but suspects weren’t known for years. This summer though, the cold case was reopened and a DNA profile was established. The suspect was identified via the CODIS database and SWAT officers arrested him from his home.
