Judge misspoke 14 yrs ago, murderer could get trial

Fourteen years ago, three daughters had to deal with their mother’s death in Grandview, and now the killer might be getting a trial. Chad M. Davis, who was 21 years old at the time and appeared to be on drugs, pleaded guilty to murder, felonious assault and abduction for a plea deal for a life sentence in prison, according to the Dispatch. We never imagined we’d be facing this. I thought we’d have a lot more years and then we’d be dealing with the parole board.”

With the plea deal 14 years ago, Casey and her sisters never had to testify in Mary Compton’s murder case. Now that might change.
