Person hit by train, found on tracks later

UPDATE: The man who was hit by a train in west Columbus has been identified as Edward Stewart, 53. Investigators have said that he was sitting on the tracks when he was hit, but it is unclear why he was sitting on the tracks.

A pedestrian was found on train tracks after being hit by a train on the west side near West Broad and Starling Streets on Saturday afternoon. Homicide detectives and the Franklin County coroner were both called to the scene, but no further information was available.
