R. Kelly, FMMF debacle continues, artists cry out against
Fashion Meets Music Festival is in the middle of the perfect nightmare for any festival in its infancy. R. Kelly was added to the docket and the community responded (and not with happy cheers as FMMF probably hoped). The R&B artist has a cloud of rumors that cling to his presence: child pornography charges (which were acquitted), sexual predation and rape. Damn the Witch Siren, a group also on the list for the festival has been more vocal, writing on their Facebook page, “We are asking Columbus, and society as a whole, to WAKE UP AND STOP IGNORING THE SERIOUS PROBLEM OUR CULTURE HAS WITH GLAMORIZING PREDATORY MEN AND IGNORING THE VICTIMIZATION OF WOMEN.” The group is meeting with festival organizer Bret Adams Tuesday in the Short North to discuss their concerns, according to Alive.
